Share your inspiring story on why you are a proud Pinoy, about the great Filipino spirit, and the amazing wonders of the country in Filipino Pride Essay Writing Contest. This is spearheaded by Good News Pilipinas and International Center for Communication Studies' (ICCS) The EdukCircle in partnership with BPI Foundation. Boost the morale of the Pinoys and make them feel proud of our heritage, culture, and most of all, our country. Running on the theme, "Why I Am Proud To Be A Filipino", there are 2 categories you can join at: Student and Open. Submit your essay along with the other requirements on the contest website. All entries are final and you cannot revise it once submitted. Three (3) winners in the Student Category will receive P10,000 + Trophy (1st Place), P7,000 + Certificate (2nd Place) and P3,000 + Certificate (3rd Place). Another three (3) will be picked in the Open Category and will take home P15,000 + Trophy (1st Place), P10,000 + Certificate (2nd Place) and P5,000 + Certificate (3rd Place).

Contest Requirements:
  • Two (2) Categories:
    • Student Category-Open to all local students, 21 under years old and under, and enrolled in a school either in the Philippines or abroad
    • Open Category -Open to all Filipinos worldwide over 21 years old from any profession
Contest Mechanics:
  1. Log on to GoodNewsPilipinas.com and hover on the "Filipino Pride Essay Writing Contest" icon ad (found on the header area) 
  2. Theme: "Why I Am Proud To Be A Filipino" - Share your thoughts and feelings in an essay format on why you are a proud Filipino, the great Filipino spirit, and the amazing wonders of the Philippines
  3. Entry Guidelines
    • Essay must be written in standard American English
    • Title must be original
    • Must contain approximately 500-800 words
    • Must possess creativity, wit, style and substance
    • Essay must be original and unpublished
    • All entries must be double spaced
  4. Submit the essay and attach a photo of yourself, a short bio-data with your birthdate, full mailing address, email and mobile contact number on the "Filipino Pride Essay Writing Contest" page. All other formats will not be considered.
  5. Winning submissions become the property of GoodNewsPilipinas.com and GNP Views and Events Inc
  6. All entries are final. No revisions are accepted. The decision of the Board of Judges is final
  7. The top three (3) winners in each category will be included in the Inspirational Views section of GoodNewsPilipinas.com
  8. At the discretion of the judges, all other well written essays (non-winners) may be published on the website
