The Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature 2012 once again is looking for new breed of gifted literary writers. The same rules apply. Choose which language you feel most comfortable in expressing your thoughts - English, Filipino, Cebuano, Hiligaynon or Iluko. Next, decide on which writing style you will go for - poetry, short story, essay, etc. This is open to all ages so everyone is welcome to join. Be famous and help enrich the nation's cultural heritage. Cash prizes of over P600,000 will be granted to those who will be selected on their literary works.



Contest Requirements:
  • Open to all Filipino or former Flipino citizens
Contest Mechanics:
  1. Theme is open for all categories except for Kabataan Essay/Kabataan Sanaysay: “In the event of e-books, do I still consider printed books to be an important part of education?” or “Sa paglaganap ng e-books, maituturing ko pa bang mahalagang bahagi ng edukasyon ang printed books?"

  3. Download and accomplish the official entry form and authorization form
  4. Entry Guidelines
    • Typewritten or computerized
    • Double-spaced on 8 1/2 x 11, with approximately one-inch margin on all sides
    • The page number must be typed consecutively (e.g. 1 of 30, 2 of 30 and so on) at the center of the bottom margin of each page
    • If computerized, the font should be Arial, Times New Roman or Book Antiqua and the font size should be 12

  6. You may submit only one (1) entry per category. An entry may only be submitted in one (1) category and may not be entered in any other category
